MVAO Elementary - Anthon - Holds Final Reading Celebration

On May 18th, the Anthon elementary students had their final reading celebration in the library.
The kindergarten students started off the assembly with some fun readings about all they learned in kindergarten. First grade then shared a reading called "Summer is coming!" Next, Mrs. Oberreuter announced the library and classroom reading awards for the quarter. After the award recipients were acknowledged, the top library books and most popular authors were shared with the students. The book that circulated the most times this year was No, David! by David Shannon. The author with the most checkouts in our library was Mo Willems.
The gathering ended with a call to read over the summer and stop in at the public library for storytime.

The Mapleton elementary students attended their final reading celebration of the year on May 18th. The kindergarten classes donned homemade graduation caps and shared a reading of Mo Willems' "Will the Pigeon Graduate?". Following the student presentation, Mrs. Oberreuter announced all of the classroom and library reading awards.
Some of this year's library statistics were then shared with the assembly. The book with the highest circulation in the Mapleton elementary library this year was I Broke My Trunk! by Mo WIllems. Mr. Willems was also the author with the most books checked out this year.
We finished out the afternoon with some knock-knock jokes and a plug to read over the summer.
