    The Rams and Wildcats took their battle to the diamond in Mapleton on June 5th. The Rams came out roaring, plating the first 4 runs of the game. Things quieted down then, though, at least for the home team. The Wildcats's bats to got, putting up 9 of their 12 runs in two innings.
    Bryndall Paterson had a couple hits on this night, a double and a single. Marley Scott singled a couple times. Brenna Mammen used her running skills to steal 3 bases.
    Brynn Jacobson started the game at the helm, getting the loss. Pitching the first 3.1 innings, she struck out 4 of the 23 batters she faced. She gave 8 free trips to first base and allowed 4 hits and 11 runs. Caitlee Koenigs finished the game as pitcher. Facing 19 batters, she struck out 2, walked 5, and allowed 3 hits and 1 run.

    The Rams spent Saturday, June 6th in Missouri Valley for their tournament.
    The first game of the day went well for the Rams. A huge 2nd inning sealed the deal.
    Brynn Jacobson doubled and singled. Bryndall Paterson singled 3 times, bringing in 2 RBIs. Alex Wonder also singled 3 times. Paterson led the team in stolen bases with 3. Avery Funkhauser was also an opportunistic runner, getting 2 stolen bases.
    Jacobson pitched the game, facing 31 batters. She struck out 2, walked 6, and allowed 6 hits and 4 runs.

    The Rams' second game of the tournament also went the MVAOCOU ladies' way. They jumped on the board in the first two innings and kept the Cardinals at bay until the sixth. They stopped their opponent's rally to get the win.
    Brenna Mammen doubled and singled. Marley Scott also doubled. Kadance Neubaum singled twice and also stole a couple bases.
    Caitlee Koenigs got the win at the helm. Facing 31 batters, she struck out 3, sent 6 to first, and allowed 5 hits and 3 runs.


MO VALLEY TOURNAMENT
Missouri Valley 8 - MVAOCOU 0

    The Rams' final game for the tournament was against the hosts and didn't go well as the 9-1 Lady Reds dominated the 4-8 Rams.
    Marley Scott had the only Ram hits in this game, two singles.
    Brynn Jacobson got the loss as pitcher. Facing 9 batters over 2 innings, she struck out 1, walked 2, and allowed 2 hits and runs. Faith Smeltzer finished the game at the helm, facing 14 batters over 2 innings. She struck out 1, sent 2 batters to first, and allowed 5 hits and 6 runs.

    The Rams traveled to Kingsley for a disappointing game, shortened by the 10-run rule.
    Other than Jake Scott's triple, only singles were hit by the Rams, one by Bronx Siebersma and one by Collin Smeltzer.
    Smeltzer started the game on the mound. Facing 22 batters over 3.1 innings and throwing 84 pitches, he struck out 4, sent 4 to first on free passes, and allowed 7 hits and 6 runs. Jayden Bailey faced 2 batters, hitting one with the pitch. Bo Clausen finished the game at the mound, facing 10 batters in 1.1 innings. Throwing 36 pitches, he struck out 1, gave 5 batters free trips to first, and allowed 1 hit and 4 runs.
    The Ram record was now at 5-3.

    The 5-3 Rams hosted the 9-3 Raptors met at Ram territory. The guests took an early 3-run lead in the first, but the Rams matched that and then some in the fourth. Once they got going, they didn't stop until the bottom of the sixth when the game abruptly ended due to the 10-run rule.
    The Rams had two bombs on this night, one from Tanner Dixon, and one from Jake Scott. Both homers brought in 3 runs each. Bronx Siebersma was a home run short of a cycle, bringing in 4 runs. Collin Smeltzer doubled and singled. Jaydon Bailey singled three times while Brayton Paterson and Cade Schmidt both singled twice.
    Siebersma pitched the first 4 innings, facing 20 batters and throwing 85 pitches. He struck out 6, sent 5 to first base, and allowed 1 hit and 5 runs. Schmidt pitched the final two frames, facing 13 batters and throwing 74 pitches. He struck out and walked 4 and allowed 3 hits and runs.

    The Rams had another shortened game at home, this time against the Warriors. Both teams put runs over the plate in the first four innings, but the Rams crossed much more and then denied any runs in the fifth, kicking in the 10-run rule.
    The home team had 18 hits on this night. Bronx Siebersma doubled and singled twice for a total of 4 of the hits. Cade Schmidt, Caden Kuhlmann, and Jadon Bailey all doubled once and singled twice. Bo Clausen doubled and singled. Brayton Paterson singled a couple times. Clausen and Tanner Dixon both had a couple of stolen bases.
    Jake Scott started the game at the mound, pitching 1.2 innings and facing 11 batters. Throwing 39 pitches, he hit a couple batters and allowed 5 hits and runs. Jaydon Bailey finished the second, facing 2 batters and throwing 6 pitches. He struck out 1 and allowed a hit. Brayton Paterson switched his catching glove to a pitching glove, facing 11 batters in 1.2 innings and throwing 38 pitches. He struck out 3 and sent 2 to first base. Bo Clausen finished the fourth and fifth inning, facing 9 batters and throwing 35 pitches. He struck out 1, sent 3 to first, and allowed a run.

    The Rams traveled to Ida Grove to play Hwy 175 rivals, the Falcons. The hosts took a 4-run lead right away, but the Rams tossed 6 on the board in the fourth and maintained their lead for the rest of the game.
    Jake Scott doubled, bringing in a couple of the runs. Cade Schmidt's single also brought in a couple runs.
    Collin Smeltzer got the win at the mound. Pitching the first 4.2 innings and throwing 110 pitches to a total of 29 batters, he struck out 8, sent 5 to first base, and allowed 5 hits and 8 runs. Jaydon Bailey finished the game at the mound, facing 13 batters over 2.1 innings. His 43 pitches included striking out 2 batters and sending 3 to first base. he also allowed 3 hits and a run.

Middle School Tracksters Break School Record

    Before the middle school track season was over, four members replaced some names on the wall of track records at MVAO Middle School with their own names.
    Daxton Blake, Hudson Bruhn, Creighton Koenigs, and George Brown broke the 4x200 record with a time of 1:47.37. The previous record, 1:47.62 had been set by Ethan Wolf, Wes Burkhart, Jeremy Parr, and Derek Dougherty in 2004.
